James Davidson< no role > of the Parish and County aforesaid Shop
Seller being Sworn upon his Oath saith That he
had known the deceased about fourteen Years that
deceased lived nearly opposite to him near the
Hermitage Bridge That on Sunday Evening the
30t. of March last Deponent being informed by a
Watchman that a Murder had been Committed
[..] he with several others went into the House of
the deceased and found him laying on the Floor
Dead with his Throat Cut several Wounds on his
Head and Body That there was no Buckles in
his Shoes nor Money in his Pocketts That Deponent
knows the deceased was Accustomed to wear Silver
Shoe Buckles That the several Drawers and Cloths
Appeared to be broken open and the House striped
