< no role > taken the Fifth Day of July 1788.

William Davis< no role > upon his Oath saith that he is a super Memory
Watchman for the Parish of St. Andrew Holborn that on
Thursday the [..] third Day of July about four o'Clock in
the Morning as he was going Home from his Duty he saw
two Men in the Lane Joining Summers place standing agt. a
Bail & the Prisoner came up to them who upon seeing the
sd. Davis began to walk off upon wch. the two Men said to the
Prisoner never mind him he is only a white livered Bugger
of a WatchmanUpon that Davis said to them good Morng.
to you Gentleman & passed them they then walked off he
fellowed them but having no Assistance the other two got
clear awayThe Prisoner was likewise going & as he
run along he threw sevl. Things into a Pond of Water
particularly a Saw & a brass Cock he dropt upon the
Ground upon the sd. Davis seizing him he turned
round & said you bloody Bugger do you offer to take me
then he knocked him down & took him

Elizabeth Northam< no role > upon her Oath saith that on Thursday
Morning the fourth Day of July abt. six o Clock when she got up
she found the Door of the Workshop wch. Joins her house broke
open the Lock was much bent & sevl. of her late Husband's
Tools (who was a Carpenter ) lying upon the Floor & upon going
further in the Yard found the Yard Gate wch. leads into
the Fields broke open & that the Saw & brass Cock in the
Possession of the Watchman belonged to her late
Husband & is her Property
