The Information of John Mellows< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. taken on
oath the 5th. day of July 1788 before me one of
his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex

Who on his Oath Saith That on the Thirteenth day of
May last he was applied to be one Joseph Dockry to
know if he had not a horse to let out for that day, and
the next Morning, Informant told [..] he had, Dockry
then said it was for a Gentleman that he knew,at
and at was to go to Epping and return the next morning
accordingly Informant then Saddled the horse and
by Dockrys directions took the horse to Mr. Tomlisons
stables in the Curtain road in the Parish of Saint
Leonard Shoreditch , then Dockry said to this Informant
this Gentleman his name is Smith, he is an
attorney and lives at Hoxton and it is him is to
ride the horse, and then Smith agreed with this
Informant to give him Eleven shillings for that day
and to return with the horse the next forenoon, And
never been returned to him And that Joseph Smith< no role >
now under Examination is the person who hired the
said Horse of him and rode out of the said Mr.
[..] Tomlinson yard and this Informant hath never seen
the said horse sice, which is a Chesnut Roan
Gelding
