The Information of Thomas
Bishop
< no role > Up holder who ledged in the
Kitchen of Clary's House taken before
me this first day of April 1788

Who being upon Oath Says That Immediately upon his being alarmd
by his Wife he took the Box which she had given
him up Stairs without waiting to dress himself
that upon his going up Stairs he melt Clary in
the Passage at the Top of the Kitchen Stairs with
his Breeches Stocking and Shoes on and a White
Night [..] on his Head, That Clarys attemptd.
to open the Back door of his House, leading into the
Yard which this Informant desired he would not do
but he still persisted and did open the door that
this Informant then Call'd out Fire and desired
the Lodgers up One Pair of Stairs to come down
or they would be burnt That this Informary
then put down his Box by Clarys Parlour and
went back into the Kitchen, for some other
thing but when he Returnd he found the Fire
so much increasd, that he was apprehensive
he should not be able to escape and thinks that
Clary must have been watching for the Fire
