before me this 24th. day of July 1787
Who being upon Oath Severally say and first the
said John Sommers< no role >
for himself says that on the
Evening of Wednesday the 4th. day of July Instant
the person now present who calls himself Richard
Johnson< no role >
came to his Masters Shop and ordered a
quantity of Silk Stockings to be sent to No. 24
Surrey
Street
in the Strand
That the next Morning this
Informant carried some Stockings to No. 24 Surrey
Sheet aforesaid when said Johnson directed Informant
to return and fetch some Stockings to wear under
Boots and bring a Bill and receipt That Informant
[..] went back for said Stockings and when he
returned the said Johnson was gone from his said
Lodgings and had taken the Stockings with him
And the said Susannah Murry Harford for herself
Says that the said Johnson as the 4th. of July aforesaid
hired three Rooms in Mr. Owens House No. 24 aforesaid
for the Term of two Months at One Bund six
Shillings P Week That the next Morning said
Johnson ask'd this Informant if the Hosier
had been
there Informant replied No That in about half an
hour after John Sommers< no role >
now present came with
some Stockings and wels with said Johnson some
time That in a few. Minutes after said Sommers had
left the House said Johnson left it also and has never been
there since.
