the Peace in and for the said County of Middlesex
this 12th. day of May 1787

This Examinant, on Oath saith that on Monday
last the 7th. day of this Instant May about Eleven O'Clock
in the forenoon of the same day she was looking out of a
window in her Lodgings situate in Blue Court Saffron Hill and called in
a Jew who was crying old Cloaths and told him she had
again and Pettycoat to sell but in fact had nothing to
sell and merely called him in for fun and at that
time there were in her Room in the said Lodging three Men
who are called Spooney Jack, Alexander Bell< no role > [..] Thomas
Porter
< no role > and a woman whose name the only knows to
be Nancy as soon as the Jew came up Stairs and
entered in to the said Room the said Spooney Jack
Alexander Bell< no role > , and Thomas Porter< no role > , immediately
rushed in him and then that the door surrannded him and that Spooney
Jack took a knife and held it to his Throat when the
Jew pushed towards the Window being them shut and
opened it and cryed Murder on which the said Spooney
Jack, Alexander Bell< no role > , and Thomas Porter< no role > , came forwards
and [..] shut the said window the door of the Room
was then opened and the Jew [..] thrown downs Stairs
by them and beat violentlyThe Jew there went into
the Court and the said Spooney Jack, Alexander Bell< no role >
