The said Basket Anvil and Steel at his house as aforesaid
John Clark< no role > of George Court Stony Lane St. Bottolph Aldgate London
Smith on his Oath says on Sunday Morning last about the Hour of
seven he saw the Basket Anvil and piece of Steel produced
which he took to be Iron in the shop of Timothy Gray< no role > in Wentsworth
Street and that said Timothy went< no role > with him to a Public house
who pointed to James Rose< no role > who was as sleep saying he was
the man who brought said Basket Anvil and Steel to his Shop
and left it thereSays they awaked the said James Rose< no role >
who abused them that he went and called William Box< no role >
the Officer who took charge of himthat the said James
Rose
< no role > told him in the Hearing of Box the said Anvil was
the property of Mr. Hobson of Bethnal Green No. 32 Pettycoat Lane and afterward
that he had the same of Different persons lying in Different
places

The said James Rose< no role > says he was on Saturday night paid by his
MasterCade Master Backlayer Foreman about the hour of Nine Sixteen Shillings
and Six pence that after paying his score had Eight Shillings and Sixpence left
about the tour of Eleven he went to his Lodgings in Phonix Street Spitalfield
were he slept and got up about the hour of five on Sunday Morning to go to
John Carter< no role > an Irishaman who Lodged in Rosemary Lane what number he cannot
tell but nigh Salt Peter Bank . says a Woman told him Caster had not been
at home all night as he coming along the new Road into Whitechapel he
stopped behind One of the Watch boxes to make water there he [..] saw the Basket
close to the Backside of the said box. That the looked into it and saw the Anvil
and piece of Iron produced in the Backet which he took us to carry home
