The several Informations of John Lane< no role >
Thomas Gillard< no role > and John Bristow< no role > Taken the
23d. day of May 1787 .

Who upon their Oaths say and first the said Thomas
Gillard
< no role > for himself saith That about the hour of
7. oClock in the Evening of the 22nd. Instant he saw a Man
now in Custody [..] who says his Name is James
Jacobs
< no role > running very fast and hearing the Cry of Stop
Thief he ran after him and saw the prisoner with
Blunder buss in his hand & Informant Pursued him into
the George Ann Saint Giles's where he found him on
a Seat in the Tap room and the Blunder buss was lying
under the Seat which he Secured

The said John Bristow< no role > for himself Saith That
he saw the said James Jacobs< no role > go into the George Alehouse
with a Blunder buss in his hand and Informant thoughts
he was a Guard and about a Minute afterwards he saw
a Mob coming up who asked him it he had seen a
Man with a Blunder buss That he went into the House
and saw the prisoner lying on a Seat in the Tap Room
who pretended to be Keeping and upon Cooking under
the Seat he saw the Blunder buss now produced lying
there and Informant then Secured him and took him
up to Mr. Lane's house in House Street Saint Giles's and it
Appeald to be his property and had been Stolen But the
prisoner was let go by the desire of Mrs. Lane

The said John Lane< no role > for himself Saith That
the Blunder buss now produced is his property and
was Stolen from the door of his Shop at the time
above mentioned
