Who being upon Oath says That being on his Duty among the Ruins
of the House lately occupied by David Evise< no role >
Daniel Calry< no role >
in
Little Pulteney Street
upon Monday the 24 March last, he
observed a Person come into the Ruins whom he was afterwards
informed by another Fire man was the Sufferer Mr ClaryThat this
Informant them asked Clary if he had lost any Property and told
him that if he had he this Informant would endeavour to find
it an the Ground Floor of the House was perfect Upon which
Clary answered That he had lost a Chest in which there
was prior to the Fire 15 or 16 Giuneas, that
in consequence of what Clary Paid, this Informant
fetch'd a Ple are, in order to dear away the Rubbish
and endeavor to find the Money. and upon his
return found Mr. Gubbins Surveyor to the Sun
Fire Office, upon the Ruins, to whom he Repeated
what Clary had Said, that some Conversation
then Gassing Betweenbeingthe Surveyor and Clary (the
Particulars of which this Informant does not Bcoled)
but says he was Immediately orderd by
the Surveyor to Proceed. to clear away the Rubbish
from the Place where Clary. had informd him
the Chest Stood, which Contain'd his Property
and on searching among the Rubbish they found
