of the Parish of St. Mary le Bone in
the C ounty of Middlesex
[..] and taken before me Nicholas Bond< no role > Esquire
one of his MAJESTY'S Justices of the Peace for the City and
Liberty of Westminster County of Middlesex , this 27th.. Day of May

Who saith that wanting pair of Cotton Stocking this
morning, he went into said John Fieldsend< no role > 's Shop to buy a pair, that Benjamin
Shaw
< no role > now present sold him a pair for four shillings, which he paid him;
that his reason for Running was, because, he was charged with Stealing said
Stocking. And further says that he did not throw any Stockings away
nor did any drop from him when he was pursued. Says that when he
left the Shop, he took up his four shillings again, and left the Stockings
which he had bought, thinking that a Woman (who was then in the shop) might
have Stolen the Stockings.
