< no role > whom I have Admitted an Evidence in
His Majesty's behalf against George Stevens< no role >
and others for Felony taken upon Oath before me
William Blackborow< no role > Esqr . one of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County
this 9th. day of December 1786

This Examinant upon her Oath saith that she keeps a
Cloaths shop upon Saffron Hill near Chick Lane . and that she hath
Known James Robinson< no role > RobertAndrewsAnderson< no role > and the Prisoner George
Stevens
< no role > for about a Month last past That on Saturday the Second day of
December Instant the said James Robinson< no role > came to this Examinant and
asked her if she would buy any Goods of him and she told him Yes. That on
Sunday the day following at about the hour of eight of the Clock in the Evening
the said James Robinson< no role > came to this Examinant at her House on Saffron
Hill aforesaid with a large bundle of Apparel in Company with the said
Robert anderson< no role > and the Prisoner George Stevens< no role > who had something in
a Handkerchief that [..] Anderson went out Supposing they had been Watched
ley some Person when they called a Nose. And Anderson not returning
Robinson also went out and took his Stick with him that this
Examinant was looking at the Goods at the time the officers knocked at the
Door and demanded Entrance upon which the said George Stevens< no role > threw
part of the Goods into the next Adjoining Yard and likewise get over
into the same in order to Secret himself of That this Examinant then
opened the Door put out her Candle and asked what was the Matter the
Officers Mr. Lucy and Weaver then came into the Passage as for as the
Shop Door but Immediately went out into the next House where they
Apprehended the said Prisoner George Stevens< no role > as also took great part
of the Goods so thrown over into the Yard as aforesaid which Consisted
of Several Silk and Cotton Gowns a blue silk Pettyes at Two black
Silk Cloaks Several Aprons and Sundry other things. That
