William Hughes< no role > of the Jucks head public House in
Whitechappel (lately a Butcher ) Upon his Oath Saith
That he and William Barber< no role > of Aldgate High Street
met the deceased, William Islip< no role > and a Woman and
child near the Apron Dragon at Stepney about Nine
o'Clock And deceased and Islip both desired
Deponent and his Companion to stop deceased saying
he was Shot in the belly and that he was A deced Man
Upon which all assisted to take him to the Green
Dragon deceased told him he had here stopped
by two Men in the four want way or near it that
when they came up to him they bid him stand
and deliver he said, he told them he had no
Money about him Upon which me of them Shot
at him and wounded him in the belly and that
ye Man who Shot him was a Short Fellow looked
like a Lad, had a blue Jacket and Striped Trowsers on
and that the other Man was a Sailor also and
dressed in Sailor CloathsAfter this on taking
the deceased into the Green Dragon he layed
himself on his Right Side on the bench and drank
some cold water and desired him Friends might be sent
for and once more Said he was a dead ManSaith
that he went into the Coach to support deceased to
the Hospital whose Deponent assisted to put him
into bedSaith that deceased desired Deponent
