Wife of Thomas Staines< no role > Taken the 14th. day
of June 1786 .

Who upon her oath Saith That She lives at 177 in
Drury Lane and keeps a Haberdashers Shop That
about for an hour after 7 o'Clock this Morning Two
Girls came into her Shop and asked to Cook at some
Ribbon She Shew'd Them some Pink Ribbon which
did not Suit them She then Shewd them a Garter
Blue Ribbon which She gave into the hands of
one of the women Who says her Name is Mary
Long< no role > That the said Mary Long< no role > went out of the
Shop and ran away with it That the Said Mary Long< no role >
was soon afterwards taken into Custody and the [..] is of
the Value of Three Shillings and the property of her said
Husband Thomas Staines< no role > .

Staines< no role > Who upon his Oath Saith That at the time
of the taking the above Information he was Informed
the said Mary Long< no role > had concealed the Ribbon under her
feet That he assisted in Searching her and found the
Ribbon above mentioned under her Right foot concealed
under her Stocking.
