James Bayes< no role > one of the Patrole of saint Giles's
and John Shallard< no role > taken before me this 18th.
day of October 1785

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said George
Francis
< no role > says that on Sunday Night last between seven and eight
oClock two persons now present who call themselves William
Shergold
< no role > and Edward Preston< no role > seized hold of him, sworn they
would Cut his Throat and robbed him of the brown Cloth
Jacket now produced. The said Benjamin Palmer< no role > says that
on Sunday Night last about 9 oClock he bought the said
Brown Jacket of a person whom he doth not know and paid
him eighteen pence for the sameAnd the said James Bayes< no role >
says that this morning about two o'Clock he apprehended
the said the said Edward Preston< no role > in Dyot Street Saint Giles's
And the said John Shallard< no role > says that last Night about eleven
o'Clock he apprehended the said WilliamShopShergold
in Bridges Street Covent Garden
