The Several Information of Benjamin
Brown
< no role > and James Mc. Manus< no role > Taken the
31st: day of March 1785 .

The said Benjamin Brown< no role > upon his oath Saith
That on Tuesday last about the hour of 9. oClock in the
Morning a man who says his Name is Thomas Rice< no role >
came into his House the Brown Bear in Broad Street
Saint Giles's and had a penny worth of Purl That about
half an hour afterwards the above named James Mc: Manus
Can another Person with him That the said James
Mc. Manus called for same Beer and a Silver Tankard
was brought That the said Mc: Manus his friend
and the above named Thomas Rice< no role > were Sitting
together in the Tap Room and soon afterwards Mc. Manus
and his friend went but soon returned and had some Brandy
at the Bar and went away again directly at which time
the said Thomas Rice< no role > was Sitting in the Box in the Tap
Room and the Tankard was then before [..] him That
some little time afterwards the Taskard was Missed
and Rice was gone and this Informant verily believes
the said Thomas Rice< no role > feloniously Stole he said
Tankard

And this Informant James Mc. Manus
upon his oath Saith That he is a patrole That about
the hour of 9. oClock in the Morning of Tuesday last he
this Informant together with one George Morrow< no role >
recent to the said Mr. Browns House and had some
Beer That they sit it the Box in the Tap room
with the above Named Thomas Rice< no role > who is a
