The Information of John Nixon< no role > John Patterson< no role >
taken before me this 12th Day of November 1784

Who being on Oath say & first John Nixon< no role > for Himself
says that He is a Carpenter works for Mr. Hatch at a House in
James Street Westr : that about Half after Five Clock Yesterday Evening He double Lock'd
the Poor of the said House & that the Windows were ill fast that He
went Home to his Lodgings that in about an Hour after To [..]
Patterson same to Him & asked if He had Locked the Door of the
said House that this Informant [..] He had that the said
John Patterson< no role > then told Him there were Thieves in the House
that He went with the said John Patterson< no role > to a Publick House
to get a Light then to the aforesaid House & found the Door not
Locked went in & up Stairs & in the Back Garret found a Hatt
with Two pair of Shoes & Buckles in it that going toward the
Window the Wind blew the Candle out that they then went down
Stairs that this Informant Standing at the Door saw a Person
come running out of the House who being asked what He
wanted answered Jack the Plasteier Dran away that this
Informant [..] sued Him calling Stop Thief that Leing Him
put his Hand in his Pocket He suspected He was taking out a
Pistol hearing something Gingle that being Dark this Informt.
lost the said Person near Lord Mitfords Poor that this Informant
went into the House adjoining the aforesaid House that had
been broken open & there borrowed a Lanthorn Cut [..]
[..] to the aforesaid House & there saw a Person now
present who calls himself John William< no role > who said He
was going to Sleep there

And John Patterson< no role > for Himself says that He is a
Carpenter works at the aforesaid House in James Street< no role > repairing
that about Six o'Clock in the Evening on the 11th of November. He
tried to get out of the said House at the Street Door & found it
Double Locked that He went back & begged to go through the
House adjoining that being refused He returned in about that
an Hour through the aforesaid House & found the Street
Door open that He called out thinking his Partner had returned
