of Saint Paul Shadwell Waterman
Taken this 21st. day of October 1784
before me One of his Majestys Justices
of the peace in and for the said County

Who being upon their Oaths severally Saythat
and first the said Thomas Eaton< no role > for himself saith
that between six and seven O Clock in the Evening of
Wednesday the 13th; of October Instant he was
hailed on Board the Duke of Chandois a
West Indiaman lying Off Shadwell Dock
when three Men came from the Ship with each of

than on Shore at George Alley , that he accordingly
put them on Shore there, and as they were coming
up the Alley they were Stopt by the other Informant
21st Cole and further Saith not., And this Informant
Thomas Cole< no role > for himself Saith that having received
Information from Thomas Speights that a Quantity
of Sugar was Coming on Shore at George Alley
aforesaid. he went there with Speights and
Secured the three prisoners now present who call
themselves Rukard Buxton, David Black< no role > and
Robert Cohoon Two of which had a Bag and the
third a Handkerchief of Sugar, and Saith that one
Bag Containing Forty one Pounds weight of Sugar
now produced [..] is the Bag he found in the
