Informant Replied Yes and Opened the down-That said Hamilton came into
the Parlour and this Informant gave him Pen & Ink when Hamilton said
to his Companion "come in Will" who came in and Shut the door.
and the Window - Shutters of the Parlour also and upon Informants asking
Will why he shut the Shutters, Hamilton said that "He did not want
the Ink [..] Pen nor Paper either", then laid hold of this Informant, presented a Pistol
to her Face, & said "He was come for some Things and that if this Informant
Stirred He would blow her brains out"That Informant a Hempted to got
towards the door upon which the Dog made a Noice when Hamilton
said to his teem [..] "take care of the Dog" Will replied Yes and instantly
cut the Dog's throat. That Hamilton threw this Informant on the floor,
stuffed [..] a Pear in her Mouth, tied one Handkerchief over her
Eyes and another over her Mouththen tied her feet together and her
Hands behind her. That Will then went upstairs and burst open the Dining
Room doorThat Hamilton then dragged Informant up into the Dining
Roomandlaid her on a Sofa and bid her be still, when Will observed
If she makes any Noise kill her". That the said Hamilton & Will
continued Plundering the House about an hour and then went
awa, one of them saying that "They would take the Key of the Street
Door and Return again." And the said Thomas Read< no role > says that
ten pair of Stockings of silk & cotton, one Blue Coat & one Salt Spoon now
Produced are this Informants Property and were Stolen in his House
as he verily believes on the said 12th.. of Septemr. as aforesaidAnd
the said Samuel Booth< no role > says he is very sure that the ten pair of
Stockings, boat and Salt Spoon now produced, are the Property of the
said Thomas Read< no role > And the said Thomas Mullinger says that
he was passing throught Saint James's Square on the said Sunday between
3 & 4 o'Clock when he saw Margaret hamilton< no role > now present at Mr.
Read's door and speacking to said Elizabeth Falkner< no role > . That at the corner
of the Square this Informant saw said James Hamilton< no role > StandingThat
