Deponent then looked for the Child and saw it in a white Apron in a
ChairDeponent observed the Child's Face was hurt, and told her
to supposed she had hurt it with her Hands, she said it was so in
assisting herselfDeponent supposes the marks to be the print
of her Nails. Deponent then told her the Navel String was
not tied and asked her how she divided it, she said she tore
it with her Hand to separate it from the BurthenDeponent
asked her if the Child cryed, she said notDeponent then asked
her why she did not own she was with Child, she said she was
ashamedDeponent told her she should have owned she was
with Child, she said she was very sorry she did notDeponent
asked her if she found the Child more a little time before she was
in labour, she said she did not feel itDeponent is of opinion
that the Child either Died in the Birth for want of proper assistance
or soonafter it was Born by Bleeding too freely for want of Care of
lying the Navel String (if it was Born alive) the Head was
greatly pressed together as if with her Exertions, and thinks the
Child might have been Born alive with proper Assistance
