The Informations John Ansell< no role > of Oceans Street near Stepheny
Church in the Parish of Saint Dunstan Stepney in the said County
Taken this fifth day of June 1784 before us two of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County.

Who being on his Oath saith that as he was going from White horse Street
Stepney to Ocean Street aforesaid between the hours of Ten and eleven O'Clock
in the Evening of Wednesday the 26th. day of May last he was Stopped by
Two persons (one of Whom as now present and calls himself Joseph Taro< no role > )
about thirty or forty yards from then Alms houses at the upper End of
White horse Street aforesaid, and when lays between White horse Street
and Ocean Street.

That previous to his being so stopped as aforesaid the Tallest of the said two
Men on his passing this Informant cried Halloa. whereupon Informant
answered in return Halloa when the prisons immediately with force and
Violence held his hands on this Informants Mouth and field lane Mouthstopped his breath
when she Tall man came up and refled this Informants pocket and before
and Violence took from his person. Three Guineas & One half Guinea in fold and
some Sister after which he Book sometime ofTreated
him down therewith by a violent blow he received from the Tall Man on
the head. That when he was a little recovered from the Blow he had so received
as aforesaid he cried out Murder and Thieves Freet when one Welham Fourty
a Watchman belonging to the Hamlet of Mile End old Town , coming to
him assistant pursued the said William Turo< no role > . until he was stopped and
secured. by some person at the Lower end of White horse Sheet aforesaid.

And this Informant lastly saith that he is Positive to the person of the
said Joseph Turo< no role > , and that he was one of the above two person who
put him in bodily fear and danger of his life and by fore and
Violence took from his person the money abovementioned, and that he is
the very Identieal person, who held himbyforcibly in the manner above
described but hath not since heard ordoeshas he any knowledge of the other
person.
