draper and bent that Mr. Wilcox one of the Informant
taken this 18 Day ofJanuaryJune 1784

Who being on their Oaths Say and First the said William
Wilcox
< no role > for himself saith that thursday aboutbetweenthe
Hours of twoand StaneThe Prisoner one of Whom
saith her name is Arm smith and the other saith
her name is Elizabeth White< no role > came into his said
Mastershop. That they having been in said Shop a few
day before and were Suspected of being Shop lifters
he kept his Eyes on them and calledhis Richd Brown< no role > his fellow Servant to some down thatAnn Smiththey both went
close to the Coutner where lay the piece containing One Dozen
of Pocket Handkerchiefs Value twelve Shillings now produced That Elizabeth
White
< no role > turned about and looked at this Informant and soon
afterElizabeth White went Ann Smith< no role > was going out of the Shop in a hurryHot
this Informant Suspectings the said Such now to her somethime them to be the others
called to
Richard Brown< no role > his Fellow Servant to came down
whatand pursued the saidthe used Ann Smith< no role >

The said Richard Brown< no role > for himself saith that about the
hour of Two This afternoon his Fellow Servant Wm. Wilcox< no role >
called to him to come down that as he was on the Stairs coming down
he saw lam Smithgoing out of his justice Stopand Elizibeth
White
< no role > together felon to his Master Counter. That ann Smith< no role > Harried
out of the shop that he recollected Elixabeth white< no role > who was in the Stop
to be one of the Women who he suspected to be a Shop lifter that he pursued
Inn Smith and over took her in Catherine Wheel Alley when he stopt
her that she dropped the piece of Handkerchief now produceed which
piece is his Master Richards Wilcox propertyand wilson them
That the said Ann Smith< no role > and Elizabeth white< no role > about a week
ago came into his said Masters Ship and cheapened some Good
that by their Conduct he believed they were Shop Lifters and that
he very believes the said Elizabeth White< no role > to be accepary to the
said Arm Smith taking the piece of Handkerchiefs this day off
his Masters Counter
