before me this 22nd.. day of January 1784.
Who being on Oath say and first the said John Milford< no role >
says that
last night between 7 and 8 o'Clock, in or near Hammersmith Town
in the Bath post Coach, he was robbed by a single Highwayman
of about twenty shillings in Silver, amongst which were either
4 or 5 Half Crown piecesand this Informant further says he
doth verily believe that a person now present who calls
himself John Wood< no role >
, is the Highwayman who robbed him as
aforesaid; and doth also believe that on Horse now produced,
is the Horse on which said Wood rode at the time of the
Robbery. And the said Richard Milford< no role >
says that he this
Informant was robbed at the same time with his Brother, of
a Guinea and eleven shillings in silver, amongst which was
an Half Crown piece and doth verily believe that the said John
Wood< no role >
in the person who robbed him, and that the Horse now
produced is the Horse on which he rodeAnd the said
Richard Hambly< no role >
says that yesterday morning about 9 o'Clock the
said John Wood< no role >
came to this Informant's horse and asked if he (Wood
could have a Horse to ride to Kingston to Dinner, to whom
this Informant replied in the affirmativeThat this Informant accor-
-dingly lent said Wood the Horse now produced, on which said Wood
left this Informant's house in Saint Martins
Lane about 11 o'Clock
yesterday morning. And the said Samuel Mayner< no role >
says that
hearing last Night of Messrs.. Milford's being robbed as aforesaid, this
Informant crossed from the Hammersmith
road to the Turnpike
at Kensington Gravel pits
