Taken the 24th.
day of November 1783.
And first this Informant John Stanly< no role >
upon
his Oath Saith That about the hours of 5 or 6 oClock
on Tuesday last as he was in bed in his Lodging
Room at the House of Terence Gardner< no role >
the Sign of
the George
and Crown Alehouse in Broad Street
Bloomsbury
he saw a Woman come into the said
Room and Took from thence a Large Looking Glass
and went off with the same, upon which he
this Informant called to the said Terence Gardner< no role >
and acquainted him of the Matter when soon
after She was taken into Custody That She
says her Name is Ann Allen< no role >
and is the
same person who took away the Glass aforesaid
And this Informant Philip Bird for himself
Saith That about the hour of 6 oClock as above
mentioned he saw the said Ann Allen< no role >
come
out of the said Terence Gardners House having
in her possession of Large Looking Glass, That on Specting
the Glass to be Stolen he pursued her, called out
Fty Thief [..] when the said Ann, Allen threw the
Glass down and it was broke in pieces and She ran
away but this Informant ran after her and Took her
into Custody
