The Information of George Holland< no role >
an Apprentice to Mr. William Sanders< no role > of
Bread Street Bloomsbury Hosier Taken the
29th. day of November 1783

Who upon his Oath Saith That about the hour of
5 oClock this afternoon Two Woman Namely Elizabeth
Fagan
< no role > and Charlotte Ware< no role > came to the Shop of his
Master and under pretence of purchasing a pair of
Stockings feloniously Stole [..] Five pair of Worsted
Stockings and Endeavoured to Conceal the same and
take the same away, That this Informant Challenged
the said Charlotte Ware< no role > with having Stolen the said
Stockings but She denied it and Pulled up her Apron
when he saw Two pair of Black Stockings drop from
under the Legs of the said Charlotte Ware< no role > That
this Informant then Locked the Shop door and put
the Key in her pocket in order to Secure the said
Two Women untill a Constable could be sent for
Upon which Elizabeth Fagan< no role > demanded him to open
the door which he Refusing She immediately Struck
at him and knocked him down and the other
Woman Charlotte Ware< no role > Struck him and Seized him by
the hair of his head and threatened to Rip him up
with a Knife That a peace Officer and other Assistance
then came, otherwise this Informant Verily believes
he should have been Murdered by the said Two Women
That the said Two Women were then afterwards
Taken into Custody and the Stockings now produced
are the property of his said Master and are the same
that were so Stolen as aforesaid and are of the Value
of Ten Shillings

and Year aforesaid Before done}
