Westminster to wit


The Information of Catherine Webster< no role > and
John Carey< no role > taken before me this 3d. Day of
December 1783.

Who being on Oath Each of them say and first the said Catherine Webster< no role >
for therself smith that this Day about the Hour of One o'Clock in the Afternoon
the Man now present who calls himself William Walker< no role > came into this
Informants Shop in King Street in the Parish of Saint Margaret
Westminster and ask'd for some Stockings that this Informant took down
from a shelf a Parcel of Stockings and sherved them to the said
William Walker< no role > that the said William Walker< no role > ask'd the piece of the
said Stockings was answered by this Informant Five shillings a pair
the said William Walker< no role > said they were too dear that this Informant
in turning about to reach some cheaper Stockings [..] saw the said
William Walker< no role > take the pair of Stockings (now produced) from
the Parcel that She this Informant had then shewed him and
put them under this Left Arm, and then said He would give
Three Shillings and three pence for a pair, that this Informant
had ask'd Five Shillings for, then went out of the Shop of this
Informant saying that none of those Stockings would Do
And John Carey< no role > for himself saith that as he was going along
King Street about the same time of the said Day by the said
Catherine Websters Door he saw the Man that now calls himself
William Walker< no role > coming out of the said Catherine Websters< no role > and
Drop a pair of Stockings now produced from under his Left
arm on the Ground
