Middlesex

The Information of Lewis Gasquet< no role > of Hoxton
in the Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch in the
County of Middlesex Merchant taken on Oath the
Twelfth day of May 1783 before David Wilmot< no role > and
James Penleaze< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex .

This Informant on his Oath Saith that he attended Divine worship
Yesterday in the forenoon being Sunday at the French Church the
Coroner of Church street in the Parish of Christ Church in
the said County. That between the hours of Eleven and
Twelve O'Clock the Prisoner, Michael Hammell< no role > now [..]
Examination came into the said Church with his Hat on and
walking a little way up one of the side Aile's presented a Pistol
to the Reverend David Henry Durand< no role > the Clergyman then in
the Pulpit preaching which he immediately discharged and
fired off at the said Mr. Durand. That this Informant
and the Congregation being much alarmed there at this
Informant got out of his Seat to take him into Custody That
the said Michael Hammell< no role > as soon as he had fired the
Pistol went out of the Church and this Informant and
several other persons pursued him and took him in Princess
street near to the said Church.
