Peace
for the County of Middlesex
the 12th day of
February 1783
Who being Charged before me the said Justice with the Felonious
Cutting down fifteen Oak Trees likely to become Timber Trees in
the nighttimeof the Twenty eighth day of December last on the
Allotment of the Chare Situate in the Parish of Enfield
in the
County of Middlesex
belonging to the Churchwardens of the
Parish Church of Enfield
without the Consent of the Owners thereof
The said Aaron Patrick< no role >
saith that his is not guilty of the
same in respect to cutting down the said Trees but Saith that
he was present at the time the same were cut down and
that he Assisted the said John Popper< no role >
in Copping and cutting
off some of the Branches of the said Fees.
And the said John Pepper< no role >
Saith That he cut down the
said Oak Trees by the Order of the said Aaron Patrick< no role >
who
had hired and Employed this Examinant for that purpose
