to London to pay a Draft or Note and then
this Informant well knowing that he had
never had any concern in relation to such
affairs he carried the said Letter to Mr. Bides deputy to Mrs:
Green the Post Mistress at Winchester who
return'd him the three pence wch he paid for the
Postage of the said Letter.. and saith that
this day he went with the said Mr. Thomas
Atwood
< no role > , and Mr. William Porter< no role > to the said
Post Office, and enquired what was become
of the said Letter and this Informant was
informed by the said Mr. Biden Deputy Post Master,
that the said Letter was returned to the
General Post Office in London among several other Letters
which were called Dead Letters.
