That the Night preceding the Robbery in their Mistresses house viz on Wednes-
day last was Sesenight, it being understood by Charlotte and this Informant
that Mrs.. Fortescue was to dine at Mr. Cottons the next Day they
agreed that this Informant should get up early the next Morning and
come to Kingsland Road to Mrs.. Goodall's house for that purpose,
Charlotte being obliged to Stay at home and Wash a Gown of her
Mistresses. That this Informant got up between 4 & 5 o'Clock and Walked
to Mrs. Goodalls house which was shut. That this Informant knocked,
when Mrs. Goodall looked out of a Window came down Stairs and let
this Informant in. That this Informant told said Priscilla Goodall< no role > that
Mrs. Fortescue would Dine out that Day when She replied " very well
then I will get the Men to come", and asked this Informant what time
her Mistress would go out, this Informant answered about 4 o'Clock.
That when said Priscilla Goodall< no role > first came down-stairs she had no Gown
on, and after this Informant had said that "Mrs. Fortescue Dined out"
she returned upstairs, when this Informant heard her Husband ask
her, whether Charlotte was below and she answer him "No it is
her fellow Servant who is come to inform me that Charlotte is
Ill and begs to see Me this Afternoon or to Morrow"That this Infor-
mant got home again about 7 o'Clock when she told Charlotte
what had happened between this Informant and her Mother. That about
a quarter of an hour after Mrs. Fortescue was gone to Mr.. Cottons
to Dinner, this Informant heard a Knock at the Door which she opened,
(at which time Charlotte was above stairs) when three Men Presented
themselves and came in and this Informant shut the door. That the
first Man who came in pulled a Cutlass from under his Coat & said
he had brought that to leave in the house". That said Man then pulled
out a Crow and Chizzle, after which he picked up two Ships of Card
which lay in the Hall and went upstairs, as did the other two Men
and this Informant, and where Charlotte met then. That the said three
Men first broke open the Closet in the front Room where the Plate
was [..] all of which they took out except the Silver handled
Knives and Forks. That they then broke open a Desk out of which
