The examination of Alexander Macartney< no role > Surgeon
who on his oath saith that on the 31st. of January Last
past; that Elizabeth Humphreys< no role > was brough to the
Westminster Infirmary , reported to have been shot
upon being undressed, and examining her back he found
a Large wound as if it had been made by some
fire Arms, from which wound he extracted Several
pieces of Wale bone , which he apprehended had been Drove
in, out of her Stays, by the force of the Charge, and to
the best of his recollection, she told him this examinant
that it was Done by a man whom she had Lived with
a Soldier in the second regiment of foot Guards.

The Voluntary examination of Lionel Gattey< no role > who
on his oath saith that on the 31st. of January one Thomas
Lemon
< no role > , a Soldier came into his house with his ferclock and
called for a pint; of beer, and presently after came in the
prosecutrix Elizabeth Humphreys< no role > , and sat down by the
Side of him the said Lemon, he asked her if she the
said Mary Humphreys< no role > would go home with him and
Live with him as she had done before, She answered him
She could not think of going to Live with him again
to be beat and abused as She had been before upon
this this examinant got up to fetch a pot of beer, for a
Customer, and the said Limon at the same time got up
took his ferclock in his hand, which Lay in a box, where
