The several Informations of Elizabeth Dorrell< no role >
Widow John Cummins< no role > and John Kelly< no role > and William
Humphrey< no role > Thomas Taken and made on Oath before me
one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace the 22nd. day of
December 1781.

This Informant Elizabeth Dorrell for herself saith That
She is a Laundress and lives in a Dwelling in the Bull and Gate
Yard in Holborn and that on Friday Morning last a Room in the
Building in the said Yard (wherein was a large Quantity of wet [..]
hung up to dry) was broke open and the Major part of the same
was Taken and Carried away and saith That the same is the
property of Sundry persons who Employs her this Informant to
wash Linnen for them And these Informants John Kelly< no role >
and John Cummins< no role > for themselves severally say That on friday
Morning last about the hour of 2 oClock They saw a Woman
come from the Bull and Gate Yard aforesaid with a large Bundle
in her Apron, That the said Woman was a Black Woman
That upon Asking her what she had in her Apron She
said, She Took in washing and that she had been to her
Lodgings and was locked out, That these Informants them
said They would see her to her Lodgings, and did see her to a
House in New Turn Hile Holborn where she said she then
lodged, at which House She was let in by a person therein
And this Informant William Humphrey< no role > Thomas
for himself Saith That he lodges in a House Rented by Mrs.
Brookes in New Turn Hile Holborn and that about 2 oClock
in the Morning of friday last as he was in Bed he heard a Knocking
at the door of the said House, That he got up and came down stairs
and let in one Rachael Smith< no role > a Black woman who lodges in such
house as he this Informant believes which Woman had in her
Apron a large Bundle but this Informant does not know the
Contents of such Bundle
