The Information of Robert Turner< no role > at No. 33 Field Gate in the parish
of Whitechapel Church Bell Hanger Thomas Smith< no role > of Church Street
Mile End New Sown Lamp Lighter , Ann Wife of the said Robert Turner< no role >
and Elizabeth Bennet< no role > as under Described
Taken this 26th of Decr. 1781 before me One of His Majestys Justices of the Peace
in and for the said County

And first [..] Robert Turner< no role > sayth that he went out of his dwelling house
Situate as aforesaid Yesterday about the hour of Two in the Afternoon when
His said House was safe and under double Lock The Window on the Lower
Floor not broke and fastened down with a Large Nail
Ann the Wife of the said Robert Turner< no role > sayth that she went abroad about
TwelveOne at Noon Yesterday that The Things now produced except the Bag that
contains them are her husbands propertyandwhich were some of them
in the Draws of the said House and on the Bed in the first floor of the said
house [..] that being uneasy or hearing that her said Husband
was gone from Home she sent Thomas Sherwood< no role > about a Quarter after
five in the afternoon to see if the said house was safe who returned and said it
was safe but that she continuing uneasy about a Quarter before Six the
went to see if the house was safe when she found The sash of the Window
or the Ground floor Thrown up which Induced her to call for help. That
she saw the Prisoner who says his Name is William Harris< no role > Edmund Harris< no role > endeavouringin the said Room endeavouring to escape
BackwardThat Thomas Smith< no role > came to her Assistance who pumped into the
Back Roomand Seized The prisoner Thomas Smith< no role > Sayth that hearing
Wm. Turner call out That her house was robbed he Jumped in at the
Window [..] when he saw a Bag full of some things the same bag which
is now produced in the Middle of the said Room that he w [..] into a
back place where he found the [..] under a Table That a pane
of Glass in theWindow aboveMiddle of the Upper Sash and Lower now
of Panes in the said Sash was broke sufficient for a Man to put his land
ThroughElizabeth Bennet< no role > Servant to Mr. Chapman Bell Sounder at the
Field Gate aforesaid. Sayth that she saw Smith take the prisonersawand the
Bag now produced with sundry things some of which she these saw and one
the same which are now produced was the Middle of the said Room and
that the Middle Glass of the Lower row of Panes in the Upper Sash of the
Window broken so that a Many hand could with [..] case go through the same
