Middlesex to Wit


The Information of Robert Roberts< no role > of Saint Andrews Hill
Doctor Commons Taylor and Gilbert Ross< no role > one of the Watchmen
of the parish of Saint James Westminster taken before me
this 27th. day of December 1781

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Robert Roberts< no role > says
that he requsted a person now present who calls himself John Turner< no role > , whom
he met near Ludgate Hill , to see him Home, That he went in a
Hackney Coach with the said John Turner< no role > and another Man, which
he doth not know to the Top of the Hay market That they all
got out there when this Informant immediately missed the Handkerchief and Tobacco box now producedThat he then fulled out about four Guineas
and some Silver in order to pay the Coachman That the said John
Turner
< no role > instantly on his pulling out his Money snatched from out
of his Hand a Guinea on half Guinea and same silver, on which
he said hold of him and got from out of his Hand by force the
said Half Guinea and the said Turner put the other Money in his Coat
pocketAnd the said Gilbert Ross< no role > says that when the said
Turner was brough into St. James's Watch house he saw one
Trantum the Beadle of St. James's Parish (who is now ill) search
the said Turners Coat pocket and find therein the said Silk Handkerchief
& Tobacco Box & one Guinea and a shilling in Money
