Who being upon Oath say and first the said Richard
Klippenberg< no role >
for himself says that on Sunday Night last he
was employed as a Watchman on board a Lighter on the River
Thomas near Shadwell Dock
, that about 12 or 1 o' Clock in
the said Night Charles Currant< no role >
and Samuel Wellings< no role >
now
present together with a third person not now present came in
three separate Boats to the said Lighter, that the said Charles
Current stole twenty six Barrel Staves form on board the
said Lighter and put them into one of the Boats, that the
said Samuel Wellings< no role >
and the third person not now present
[..] came into the Lighter to this Informant and
threatened to be the Death of him if he made any Disturbance
or prevented the said Charles Currant< no role >
from taking the said
Staves, that the said Charles Currant< no role >
went up the River in
one of the said Boats with the said Staves and the other two
went down the River in the other Boats, that this Informant
knowing where the said Charles Currant< no role >
's Boat belonged to
went to St. Olave's in Southwark
immediately and there found
the said Charles Currant< no role >
putting part of the said Staves
down a Grating into the Cellar of a Public House, that the
said Charles Currant< no role >
them made his Escape but this Informant
secured 18 of the said Staves in the said Boat, and the
said Joseph Grimes< no role >
and Thomas Brown< no role >
for themselves say
