in the County of Middlesex
Victualler
taken and made On Oath before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace
in and for the
County of Middlesex
the 27th. day of August 1781.
This Informant on his Oath saith that on Wednesday
the thirteenth day of June last abutabout ten Minutes
past eleven o'Clock at Night as this Informant was Coming
in a Hackney Coach from Ratcliff Highway
to Stole End
aforesaid he was stopped and attacked by three Men arms
with Pistols and a Cutlass in Saint Georges Road
in the
said County two of whom came up on each Side of the
D Coach Door and presented two Pistols to him and with
threatning Expressions demanded this Informants
Money. That this Informant resisting them the Pertons
who came to the Coach Door fired, each of them a
Pistol at this Informant but neither of them took Effect
and that after some little time they left this Informant
but did not rob him this Informant containing to
make Resistance. And this Informant further saith
that two of the Persons who so attached him with
Intent to rob him were John Stewart< no role >
and John
Vandersall< no role >
a Soldier
in the Guards.
