The Information of Joseph Rudge< no role > Norton Bobbit< no role > James
Lewis
< no role > and Henry Hennings< no role > taken before me this 30th. day
of July 1781

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Joseph Rudge< no role >
Says, that he met a person now present who calls herself Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > at
Privy Gardens White hall about twelve o'Clock last Night and went to the Axe and Gate Alehouse the
Corner of Downing Street Westminster with her, where he treated her with
some Liquor Says that he returned to Privy Gardens again where the
said Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > followed him to - Says that he is very sure that when
he first met the said Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > he had the silver Watch now
produced in his Fob and when he got home he missed it and that the
Said Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > stole the same. The said Norton Bobbit says
that he is a Watchman and that this morning he heard the said Elizabeth
Stevenson
< no role > about ¼ past one oClock making a Noise in Tavistock Street
Covent Garden , and on his attempting to take her into Custody, she ran
away and fill on the Ground. That when he came up to her and
she got up, he found the said Silver Watch on the Pavement, close to
where she fell, That the Watch was without the outside Case and
he delivered it to the said Henry Hennings< no role > to take care ofAnd the
Said James Lewis< no role > says that he this morning about 4 oClock searched
in Tavistock Street for the Case of said Watch and found the same
in an Area in York Street about ten Yards from the placed where
the said Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > fell - And the said Henry Hennings< no role > says
that he is Watch house keeper of the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden
and that the said Norton Bobbit delivered the said Watch to his on
his bringing the said Elizabeth Stevenson< no role > in and desired him to
take Care of it
