Catherine Field< no role > for Felony

Benjamin Ricketts< no role > of Plough Court Grays Inn Lane
Holborn Whipmaker Maketh Oath and Saith that he this Deponent was
on or about the twenty eighth of June last bound by Recognizance together
with one John Mardell< no role > in the penal Sum of forty Pounds before Sampson
Wrighte
< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County
of Middlesex Upon Condition that the said John Mardell< no role > should
prosecute and this Deponent give Evidence against Catherine Field< no role > for
Feloniously Stealing a quantity of Coach Whip Thongs the property of
the said John Mardell< no role > And this Deponent Saith that he Attended
the next Session at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in order to give Evidence
before the Grand Jury against the said Catherine Field< no role > but that this
Deponent did not see the said John Mardell< no role > there altho he used his
endeavours for that purpose And this Deponent Saith that he went
to the House of the said John Mardell< no role > who told this Deponent
that there would be no further Trouble and that he would not go
therefore this Deponent not being able to prosecute the said Catherine
Field
< no role > without the said John Mardell< no role > he went home about his
Business And this Deponent Saith he did not Neglect to Attend and
give Evidence against the said Catherine Field< no role > through any favour
or affection for her or for any Reward or the hope or promise thereof
but that it was entirely occasioned by the said John Mardell< no role > 's
Neglecting to attend and prosecute the said Catherine Field< no role > for the said
Felony and through no other reason or motive whatsoever therefore
this Deponent humbly prays that this Honourable Court will be
pleased to order his said Recognizance to be Discharged.
