The Information of Cray le Crayle< no role >
Esquire Charles Grubb< no role > and
Dennis Mc Donald< no role > taken before
me one of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the said City and
Liberty.

Who being Severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant Crayle Crayle for himself saith that he
lives in Old Bond Street that Upon Tuesday the
Fourth of April last this Informant had Occasion to
Open a Stone Closet with a Iron Door which he had
Built is his Dressing Room on the Parlour Floor
as a Place of Strength and Safety for the depositing
of Money Jewels and other Effects of Value and that
at that time this Informant saw and left therein safe
Locked up a Box containing a Purse Green Bag in which were Eighteen hundred
or Two thousand New Guineas and likewise another
Bag containing a large Quantity of Silver mostly
in half Crown Pieces also a small Mahogony Box
containing a Number of Bank Notes mostly of 50 [..]
each to the amount of about three hundred Pounds
and this Informant further Saith that he at the
same time saw in the saide Stone Closet a small
Wooden Case or Box in which the Jewels belonging to
this Informant were usually contained and this Informt
Verily believes that the said Jewels consisting of
a large Quantity of Diamonds and Pearls in Necklace
Earrings Crochets and other settings were at that time
deposited and contained in the said Case or Box
And this Informant further saith that Upon the Thursday
Morning following having Occasion to make some
payment he took his Keys and Opened the Said Stone
Closet as Usual andImmediately discoveredupon
Unlocking the Box where in he had left his Money as
aforesaid found that the Bags and Moneys which had
been left therein had been taken and Carried away
