George the Martyr in the County of Middlesex Chimney sweeper
the above Prosecutrix and John Jones< no role > Servant to Joseph Girdler< no role >
Esqr. of Theobalds Road< no role > and Elizabeth Wife< no role > of Peter Myers< no role > of
Theobalds Road< no role > aforesaid Victualer and Daniel Thorney Red Bull
Yard Saint James's Clerkenwell Woolcomber severally make Oath
and say that the Bill of Indictment was preferred on Tuesday last
at Hicks Hall and they all attended at the Old Baily on Wednesday
and Thursday last all the two Days in order to prosecute the said
Defendant That on the adjourning the Court on Thursday Night
last not knowing there were two Middlesex Jurys the Jury that
Tried on Thursday being adjourned untill Saturday at Nine o'
Clock mislead these Deponents and each for himself and herself
say that the said Mistake and Apprehension of the Middlesex Jury
not coming on again till this Day was the Sole Cause of their not
attending Yesterday Morning early and not with the least Intent
or Inclination to Screen the said Defendant from Justice or with
any View that she should Escape therefrom and further that
Ward being brought them about Ten o'Clock Yesterday Morning
that the Middlesex Jury was setting they all repaired immediately
to the Old Baily but before they got there the said Defendant
was Discharged.
