Who being severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant John Lewis< no role >
Hanshar for himself
saith that he lives at Mr. Watts in little Cranbourn
passage
in the parish of Saint Anne Very near
to which there was a dreadful Fire on Monday
Eveng last that upon the alarm of Fire this Informt.
returned to his Lodging which he had quitted
about Eight or ten Minutes before that when he
went out he left all his Effects in his apartment
& particularly a Pertmantean Trunk containing
therein a Boom Cloth Coat Waistcoat & Breeches
& Velvet Waistcoat & Breeches
with Gold Buttons
& pair of Stone knee Buckles in the knees of the
Breeches & some other hifling things upon this
Informant return to his Apartment he found
several people all of them unknown to this Informt
Cusied in removing the Goods therein & missed the
aforesaid Trunk that about 12 o'Clock the same
Night a person came & acquainted this Informant
with his having found aportmantean Trunk Open
and empy in the Kings Mews Charing Cross
&
the next morning this Informant went to see this
said Trunk knew it to be his & the same which
he had Missed out of his apartment as aforesaid
And this Informant further saith that the Brown
Cloth Coat Waistcoat & Breeches
now produced are
his property as are likewise the Velvet Waistcoat
Velvet Breeches & pair of Stone knee Buckles also
now produced all which things were contained
