for the said City & Liberty
Who being upon Oath saith that upon Monday
last in the afternoon he was at a public House
the Sign of the Angel in Mary le Bone
Lane
in the Parish of Saint Mary Le Bone
in the said
County Playing a Game at Skittled with some
Friends and acquaintance during which time
a Man whose Name this Informant did not know
but is now Informed to be one Joseph Clark< no role >
came into the Skittle Ground & Very rudely interfend
with him & other persons playing therein that
thereupon words arise between the said Joseph
Clark< no role >
& some of the Company and this Informant
believes some Clark Passed that the Landlord of
the House interposed and seemingly appeased
that quarrel after which the said Joseph Clark< no role >
receiving his Insolence & ill behavior this
Informant went up to him & desired him to
desist whereupon the said Joseph Clark< no role >
says
the would put this Informant into his Pocket
& used many other Insulting expressions upon
which this Informant did strik the said Joseph
Clark< no role >
a Blow on the face that the Land lord & other
again Interfered and all became quiet & peacable
that some of the party returned to their Game
& Played some time while this Informant
stood quietly looking on as did likewise the said
Joseph Clark< no role >
in another part of the Ground at the
distance of about a Dozen Yards from this
Informant and that no words of any And Passed between
