for the said County City and Liberty
Who being severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant Edmund Bailey< no role >
for himself saith that
he keep the Sign of the Talbot in Oxford Street
in the
Parish of Saint Mary le Bone
that being in his Tap
Room about a Quarter past Nine o Clock on Monday Night
last he heard his Wife Cry out from the one Pair of
Stairs Screement terribly & running down at the same time upon which he Immediately
went up [..] to the One pair of Stairs Room & found the
door there of wide open several Drawen of Chest of
Drawen upon the Floor and upon the Bed and many
things Scattered about the Room Whereupon this
Informant found he had been Robbed and or examining
[..] observed the Lock of the Chamber door had
been picked or forced open and three or four Locks of
the Chest of Drawers had been forced open and that there
had bee taken out of the said Drawers Eight silver
Table Spoons and Eleven or more Silver Tea spoons
a Silver [..] Tea Stainer a Silver Cream pot & one
Silver shoe Buckle and a Gold Ring with two Diamond

in it and likewise a Bag Containing a Quantity
of Copper farthings [..] but to what amount
this Informant cannot Justly sat but who the partys
were who committed the said Robery this Informant
cannot tell
And this Informant Joseph Lucas< no role >
for himself
saith that he was in the Tap Room at the Talbot
Alehouse in Oxford Street
on Monday Evening last
[..] about a Quarter past nine o Clock that upon his
hearing a Cry of Stop Thief from above Stairs he went
out into the passage
towards the Stairs from whence
the alarm came that upon looking up Stairs he saw
the person now present who calls himself Thomas
