a House facing Milk Yard Shadwell (in company withe the said
william Bartleman) that the Bag who left at that House and that
this Examinant believes all the Bags were filled with Indigo but
is more particular as to the last Bag being filled with Indig
he having carried the same on his Shoulder or a small Distance as
before mentioned and by the Teel is able to judge thereof

John Ward< no role > being duly Sworn in manner aforesaid Saith, that he
did belong to the aforesaid Ship Prince Tom Benjamin Jones< no role >
Commander and that on a certain Day he cannot particularly
remember but thinks it was a fortnight since or thereabouts he
was in the Great Cabin of the said Ship and there put on a clean
Shirt and as he was coming out of the Cabin he saw Paul Preston< no role >
putting some Indigo out of a Cask into a Bag that William
Bartleman
< no role > and another at present unknown to him were standing
by, that he did not seethemwhat the Bag was done with, that
afterwards being on deck this, Examinant saw William Rawlins< no role >
who acted as second Mate of the said Ship break the Staves of
a Barrel this Examinant believes was the identical Barrel
out of which this Examinant saw Paul Preston< no role > emptying the
Indigo in manner aforesaid & afterwards saw the same or
some part thereof burning on the fore, And this Examinant further
Saith that when he went to put on his Shirt as aforesaid he messed
a Bag wherein he used to put her Cloaths in and making Inquiry
about it the aforesaid Paul Reston did him make himself easy about
it he should have it presentlybutthe same has not be as yet been
delivered and he believes was used to put the Indigo or some part
thereof into the now casily to convey it on shore
