this 16th. day of October 1772

Who being upon Oath Says that he knows William Herbert< no role > John
Waters
< no role > John Hartley< no role > John Swallow< no role > , one Pearce a Man & his Wife
and Sarah Claxton< no role > Says that about a Fortnight ago the said John
Hartley
< no role > and this Informant Stole out of a house the bottom of White
-cross Street a Bed Quilt two Yards & half of printed Linen and an
Old Gown Says the Bed Quilt was sold by Elizabeth Mills< no role > of
Chick Lane who will knew it had been Stolen and gave the
said Hartley and this Informant four Shillings for it, Says that
the two Yards & half of Cotton was sold to Lydia Hall< no role > This name instance is in set 1344. who gave
them four Shillings for it and knew it had been Stolen Says the
Gown was pawned near St. John Street for one Shilling by a
Strange Woman, Says that about a Month ago. the said John
Hartley
< no role > and Informant by means of a false key Stole out
of a House in a Court in Shoe Lane three Gowns one Petticoat
andabout four Shillings in Money and a Pair of Stays Saysall
the said Gowns petticoat and Stays were sold by them both to the
said Pearces Wife who lives in Swan Court Old Street for £1.9.0
and who well knew they had been Stolen, Says that about two
Months ago the said John Hartley< no role > and this Informant Stole
outs of a House near Black Friars Bridge two Gowns three Silk
Handkerchiefs which were sold by them both to the said Mrs..
Pearce for about thirty Shillings, Says that abouts the same time
the said Johns Hartley and this Informant Stole out of a House
near the same place a Time piece in a Mahogany Case as
Stiff Gown a New Green Waistcoat & a Pair of black Breeches
Says that the Time piece and all the Apparell was sold to the
aforesaid Mrs. Pearce, Says she gave them Nine Shillings
for the Time piece, and half a Guinea for the Apparell
