taken before me this 2nd.
day of August 1771
Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said Peter
Louis Guel Richards< no role >
for himself says that on the Friday
Night the 26th. day of July last between the hours of
11 & 12 he was stopped by two Highwaymen near Kitts End
who robbed him of Five or Six Shillings in Silver, a Silver
Mounted Pistol fellow to one now produced and a Watch
which he received from Charles George< no role >
the Postillion
who
above the said Post Chaise a Short time before he was robbed
as aforesaidand the said Charles George< no role >
for himself says
that he drove A Person now Present who calls himself
Peter Louis Guel Richards< no role >
from London the Friday
Evening aforesaid to Rebley near South Mims
in the County
of Middlesex
that being Informed at Whetstone Turnpike
that there were Highwaymen on the Road he gave his
saidWatch to the said Mr Richards for Safety, says
the said Chaise was Stopt a little beyond Kitts End
by two Highwaymen
