for
the said County
Who severally being upon Oath say And first
this Informant Mary Marton< no role >
for herself
saith that she keeps a ready Furnished House
at Chelsea
to Let out to Families or in Lodgings
that about Christmas Day last she was at her
said House & found all her Goods safe & on the
fourth of the last Month Word was brought to
her that the said House had been Broke Open
& a great Quantity of the Furniture Stolen the reout
And saith that the followg Goods now produced
[..] a part of the Goods which were so Stolen
Vizt. the Furniture of a Crimson Moreen Bed
two Pieces of China Ware a Bolster three Blankets
a Brass Pottage pot a Brass Drudger a Copper
Tea Kettle & a flat Iron & saith that she
does not know the person or person who Broke
Open the said House nor Whether it was Broke
Openly Night or Day And these Informants

jointly say that on the 14th Day of January last
they searched a Room belonging to a person now
present who calls himself Benjamin Thornton< no role >
& found in the said Room the Following Goods Vizt
the abovemd. Bed Furniture two pieces of China
Ware the Brass Pottage Copper Tea Kettle Brass
Drudger & flat Iron and further say that a
person now present who calls herself Mary
Gibbons< no role >
but who then said that she was the Wife
of the said Thornton. was then in the Room &
looked the Door against these Informants but
upon their Insisting to Come into the Room she
