taken before me this 17th. day of
February 1769
Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said James
Osberne< no role >
for himself says that on Sunday Night last he sent a
Parcel to Mr. Roakes the Carrier at Staines in order to be sent
to London by a person now present who calls himself Jonathan
Dixon< no role >
says the said Jonathan Dixon< no role >
did not return but instead
of carrying the said Parcel he is informed and verily believes
that he broke it open and stole thereout twelve pounds and
upwards in Money which this Informant had put in , and the said
John Snapes< no role >
for himself says that being informed by the said
James Osborne< no role >
that he had Reason to believe the said Jonathan
Dixon< no role >
had stolen the said Money he pursued him to Hungerford
where the said Dixon was apprehended and confessed the fact
and returned to this Informant between four and five pounds
which he acknowledged to be part of the Money so stolen
as aforesaid and taken out of the said Parcel
