Kendrick

taken before me one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the said County

Who being severally upon Oath says and first the said
Stephen Kendrick< no role > for himself Saith that on Friday the
17th. Instant he went to Bed about 10 o'Clock and himself
fastened the outer Door of his House and about the Hour of End
the same Night he was awaked by the Barking of a Bull
Bitch which he keeps and came out into a Gallery and saw the
said outer Door wide open and heard the flittering of Geese and
heard a Person call the Bitch by her Name and suspecting that
somebody was stealing his Geese he call'd out stop Thieves and he
saw a Man came out of the House who very unconcerned asked
this Informant what was the matter and this Informant saith you
Thief you are stealing my Geese and said that he thought he knew one of them
by his Voice to be the other Informant Arther Simms and this Informant
saith that he heard a Snapping like the Cocking of a Pistol and he was
then call'd Thief and told him to go in or he would short him and this
Informant drew himself back and told she person to street and saith that
other he saw two other Persons and that two of the Geese within his House
was Stolen. And this Informant Arthur Simms< no role > for himself saith that
John Randal< no role > and William Haughton< no role > divers times importuned this
Informant to go and steal his Master Stephen Kendricks< no role > Fowles and they
set out together between Eleven & Twelve o'Clock for that purpose & they
went down Fleet Street way and about One o'Clock came to the House of the
said Stephen Kendrick< no role > and the said Haughton had a Pistol which he had
Primed in Fleet Street and this Informant get over the Rails and opened
the Outer Door and this Informant, Randal & Haughton went into the House &
the Bull Bitch Barked he called the Bitch by her Name which same steel quieted
her and Randal afterwards keept the Bitch quiet and this Informant caught
two of the Geese and gave them to Haughton who killed them and saith [..] his
Master being alarm'd came out into the Gallery and this Informant heard ward,
Pass between she said Haughten and his Master & she said Haughton threatened to
Street him and upon his Masters crying out stop Thieves they left the
two Geese just within the Door and went out into Holborn and about Ten Minutes
they all returned back and this Informant went and formed the Geese and
delivered one to Haughten & she other to Randal and the Geese were carryed
to the House of one Mrs. Hall in Black Boy Alley .
