The Information of Mary Lewis< no role > taken before me
this 28th. day of September 1768

Who being upon Oath says that she hath lived with Elizabeth Grieeves< no role >
sworn Months as a Servant in South Park Street that her Bed Chamber
was in the two pair of Stairs backwards and that her said Mistress [..]
the two pair forwards that on Monday Morning the 19: of Sepr. Inst.
her said Mistress sent her with a Letter to Mr. Bolland in Shire Lane
which She wrote that Morning in the Parlour whilst Informant
Lighted the Fire says She believes it was about seven o'Clock when
She went away with the said Letter says that Just before she went
out she went up into her Bed Chamber to put on her Gown that at that
time it was perfectly day light that there was no Candle or
appearance of Smoak but that every thing was very safe that when
She quitted the Room She only pulled her door to and did not fasten
it says She never remembers whilst she lived in the House any
Smoak or Smother wrising from Washing at the next door says when she came
back from Mr. Bolland's She found the said House on Fire
says that a few days before the Fire happened a Person came
from Coll. Hamilton to enquire after his goods says She heard
said Mrs. Grieeves tall said Person that they were very safe
and that no Person had been in the Room
