The Information of Miles Gardner< no role > of East
Molesworth
< no role > near Hampton Court in Surry
Waterman taken before me this 9th. day of
February 1768

Who being upon Oath says that about 10 o'Clock last
Night as he was in King's hard Court Russel Street Covent Garden
a Woman now present who calls herself Eleanor Steel< no role > desired him
to go home with her, that he accordingly went with her to a
House in King's head Court where he laid down on the floor in
a Room up two pair of Stairs having then 14 Guineas & a
sixpence in one pocket and a six and thirty Shilling piece &
four Shillings in another Pocket and fell a sleep the said
Eleanor Steel< no role > being in the Room as likewise another Woman
who is lying in and her young Child, that when he waked about
six o'Clock this Morning he found that the above mentioned 14
Guineas and six pence had been taken not of his pocket &
that the said Eleanor Steel< no role > was gone away, that the other Woman
told him where he was likely to find the said Eleanor, that he
went by her Directions to the Sign of the two Brewers in Banbridge
Street St. Giles's where he found the said Eleanor asleep, that on
his charging her with picking his pocket She confessed the
same and returned him eleven Guineas & a half and seven
Shillings of the Money,and
